YOUR MONEY INFORMATION


"It’s Your Money" website is for general information purposes only. It is a searchable, user-friendly public site providing a central location for citizens to view information about the city of Surprise financial activities by fiscal year. This financial transparency helps to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently by ensuring all decisions are made in the open and on the record.

The city takes reasonable and appropriate measures to maintain the timeliness and accuracy of It’s Your Money. The financial data presented has been neither reviewed, nor audited and may contain errors, omissions, or misstatements. This site is intended to provide additional information to augment the city’s financial reporting. The city’s  Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)  contains audited financial statements that have been prepared in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (GAAP) as applied to government units.

This site and the information it contains complies with  A.R.S. § 41-725.   Accordingly, some information, deemed to be confidential, is either not presented or is presented in such a way as to maintain legal confidentiality.

It’s Your Money provides citizens with a centralized source of financial information about the city of Surprise and includes the following:

Further information about individual transactions may be available upon request pursuant to Arizona Public Records laws. The Arizona Public Records Law is a series of statutes (and court cases that interpret those statutes) that describe public access to government information and that make government agencies (including the City of Surprise) accountable to the public by granting a right of access to records. The statutes are available at: A.R.S. § 39-101 to -161  and  A.R.S. § 15-1640.
